USPA NEWS - A veteran Air Canada pilot has been apprehended and charged following allegations that he operated hundreds of commercial flights without possessing the requisite airline transport pilot credentials necessary for his position.
Air Canada has stressed that safety remains its primary concern and is collaborating fully with investigators. The case has raised serious concerns regarding credential verification processes and regulatory oversight within the aviation industry.
Former Air Canada captain Geoffrey Wall is facing charges of fraud and forgery after allegedly flying 900 flights between 2009 and 2025 without the Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
Air Canada reported that the pilot held a valid Commercial Pilot Licence and had successfully completed all required training, simulator sessions, and recurring flight checks throughout his career. The airline confirmed that passenger safety was not compromised, as the pilot consistently met competency standards and passed regular evaluations conducted by certified Transport Canada examiners.
Following the discovery of documentation discrepancies during a routine inspection, authorities launched an investigation. Air Canada has since removed the pilot from duty and notified Transport Canada. Air Canada has enhanced its procedures for verifying pilot licenses.
